Hartmann named to University of Nebraska-Lincoln dean’s list/honor roll

LINCOLN, NEB.—Holly Hartmann of Maple Park has been named to the dean’s list/honor roll at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for the 2011 fall semester.

Hartmann is a senior agricultural economics major in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.

Butts performed in Augustana College Four Choirs Concert

ROCK ISLAND, ILL.—Emily Butts of Elburn, a sophomore majoring in elementary education, participated in a concert on Feb. 4 at Augustana College, that included four choirs: Cantilena Augustana, Wennerberg Men’s Chorus, Jenny Lind Vocal Ensemble and the Ascension Singers.

Kurian inducted into Leadership Society at Augustana College

ROCK ISLAND, ILL.—Elburn resident Alex Kurian, a senior majoring in business administration-finance, was among 38 students initiated into the Augustana Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa, the national leadership honor society founded in 1914.

Dean of the college, Dr. Pareena Lawrence, spoke and congratulated the students at a ceremony held Jan. 14 at the Butterworth Center in Moline, Ill.

Omicron Delta Kappa recognizes students who do excellent academic work (above a 3.4 GPA) and demonstrate leadership in co- and extra-curricular activities.

Morgan named to WCC president’s list

SUGAR GROVE—Sarah Morgan of Elburn was named to the Waubonsee Community College (WCC) president’s list after completing her first semester in the honors program with a grade point average of 4.0. She has been invited to join the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society and will be inducted March 4.

Sarah is a 2011 graduate of Kaneland High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society and Knights of Distinction, and recognized as an Illinois State Scholar. She is attending WCC as a Lucile Gustafson scholarship recipient.

Sarah’s parents are Robert and Nancy Morgan of Elburn.

Maras to perform with Augustana Choir

ROCK ISLAND, ILL.—Kailey Maras of Elburn performed with the Augustana Choir when it returned to the Quad Cities for a home concert on March 9 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport, Iowa.

Maras, a senior from Elburn, is majoring in music education vocal.

Maryville’s undergraduate students are eligible for the dean’s list when they complete at least 12 Maryville University credit hours in a semester with a minimum of a 3.33 grade-point average.

Gaston earns place on dean’s list at Berklee College of Music

To be eligible for this honor, a full-time student must achieve a grade point average of 3.4 or above; a part-time student must achieve a grade point average of 3.6 or above.
