The event featues a live concert by the band Red Woody, silent auction, raffles and more. Proceeds benefit all Kaneland sports programs.

Kaneland Sports Boosters to give cancer the boot

KANELAND—The Kaneland Sports Boosters have announced their plans for the annual pink out, which will take place during the football games the evening of Friday, Oct. 24.

Pink out shirts and socks will be sold the week of Oct. 20 during lunch at Kaneland High School. They will also be sold at the games on Oct. 24.

Anyone that enters the Oct. 24 game with cowboy boots on will receive a free raffle ticket to be entered into a drawing.

Before the varsity game the boosters will be have a parade on the track for anyone that is suffering from cancer, a survivor, or anyone that wants to walk in memory of a loved one. If you are interested in participating please contact Shanne Kuipers at digum@sbcglobal.net.

All proceeds from the pink out will be donated to breast cancer research.

Kaneland Knight logo challenge

Be part of history and design your best Knight logo
KANELAND—The Kaneland athletic and activities departments want you to submit your best Knight logo.

Entries can be drawn freehand or digitally produced, and must be original work that does not infringe on any copyrighted material. You must be a resident of the Kaneland School District to submit a logo.

Entries are due Friday, Sept. 26, to the athletic office at Kaneland High School.

The top four submissions, chosen by a committee, will then be put to vote during homecoming week, and the winner announced soon after.

Join Kaneland Sports Boosters at Knights Under the Lights tonight

Please come and join the Kaneland Knights Sports Boosters on Thursday, August 21st, from 4:00-9:00 for the annual Knights Under the Lights at Peterson Field, Kaneland High School.

Come out and welcome the Kaneland Knights fall sports teams and coaching staffs. There will be football scrimmages, concessions, and music by the 2014-15 Kaneland High School Marching Band.

We will also be participating once again with Brian Bemis Auto Group, in holding the Knights Under the Lights Test Drive Fundraiser. Any 18 and older with a valid driver’s license can test drive one of several automobiles, and raise $20 for the Kaneland Knights Sports Boosters.

This money goes directly back to all of our sports programs with purchases of necessary equipment. We’re looking forward to seeing all of you for an evening of seeing old friends and welcoming our new athletes.

Kaneland Sports Boosters present scholarships

The Kaneland Sports Boosters award four $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors each year. This year, due to the success of the Dodge Test Drive event that was held in August during Kaneland’s Knights Under The Lights event, the Brian Bemis Automotive Group of Sycamore submitted a grant application on behalf of the Sports Boosters to the Toyota Motor Company. The Sports Boosters were awarded an additional $2,500, which was used for five additional $500 scholarships. Those scholarships were awarded at the Senior thletic Banquet, sponsored by the Sports Boosters and the Athletic Department. This year’s winners were Joe Pollastrini, Keriann Groen, Dan Miller, Allyson O’Herron, Bradley Johnson, Laken Delahanty, Conor Johnson, Maggie Brundige and Kyle Pollastrini.

Scholarship stars

The Kaneland Sports Boosters offer four $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors each year. The athletes write an essay based on the theme—”lessons learned in victory and defeat.” These scholarships were awarded at the Senior Athletic Banquet sponsored by the sports boosters and the athletic office on May 22. Sports Boosters holding Trivia Night

The Kaneland Sports Boosters are now selling tickets for their 4th Annual Trivia Night.

Fundraiser and Auction. Tickets are $25 each and include dinner, dessert, beverage tickets, live auction, silent auction and raffles. The event will be held on Saturday, March 6, from 6 to 11 p.m. at Elburn Lions Park.

The Sports Boosters volunteer throughout the year selling concessions, spirit wear and fundraising to supplement all athletic programs at Kaneland High School and Middle School.
